We arrived in Silverdale on Monday. The drive was full of long days, and I wish that we had taken more time to enjoy the drive. Unfortunately, the weather was the determining factor for how long we were to spend on the road and where we were driving. Looking at the forecast while we were in Onawa, we saw there was a break in the weather. It wouldn’t have mattered if we went North or South because there was going to be poor weather no matter which way we drove. We decided to make a break for it and get in by Monday evening. It was a good thing we did, because on Tuesday there was a snow storm that hit the route we had just drove through the day before.
So we are in the area about a week before we had planned for. Fortunately, the house is ready for us and we are going to take possession of it today. On the down side, the movers will still not be available until Tuesday, the 14th. Happy Valentine’s Day to us? I’m still enjoying a break from work though.
For now, we’re just checking out the area. We got library cards yesterday and toll passes so we can go into Seattle without dealing with the toll by mail. We’re going to get the house settled today and then see where we go. Aron and I are probably going to need to get a new bedroom set because the room is much smaller than what we had before. We’re trying to decide if we want to go ahead and move in to the new house before the packers arrive or to wait.
